Release

July 1st, 2005 by Fraser

Be still,
be calm.
Unclenched hands release
that shadowed heart, that in silence beats.
Spectral hope, all dream;
lighter grasp sets free
what may become
what may not be.

No claim,
no demand.
Unclenched fists let slip
that tethered gaze, once-blinded eyes.
Cord falls, loosely coils;
sea-breeze bears away
what cannot rule
what life denies.
