More country than you can shake a banjo at
I’ve actually managed to complete the music and words for two whole (admittedly short) songs! Here are the words. They are rather country. Maybe a little emo-country in fact. Oh well.
In-between
(verse)
Night-birds are keeping me awake,
trying to keep from thinking
You’re the thought that fills my head
Loneliness, almost more than I can take(chorus)
Easy now, know that what will be will be
We’re born and die alone,
don’t have to be alone in-between(verse)
Evening falls and morning breaks, all these years and still I’m found
without you
Warm embrace, a lover’s voice
choose them if I had the choice
but I’ve got nothing right nowYou were never mine
You were never mineBellbird
(verse)
I remember the summertime, bellbird calls and river stone
River water blood in my veins, stony soil my flesh and bone.
Barefoot on the shingle bank, bellbird in his leafy throne
River water run through my veins, stony soil my river home.(chorus)
The streams haven’t heard of cliches!
They sing halleluiah again.(verse)
Look for me in the summertime, I’ll be walking on my own
River water blood in my veins, stony soil my flesh and bone.
Listen for the bellbird call, head towards its ringing tone
River water run through my veins. stony soil my river home.(chorus)
I know that we’ll all be okay!
I’ll sing halleluiah again.(bridge)
River water run through my veins,
Stony soil my flesh and bone.

Bellbird reminds me of Brightwater. The river at the end of Bryants Lane (road?) more specifically. I like it. Hope to come see you play tomorrow night, unless Tremors 4 lures me away…

Very cool, and would probably seem even better if I heard the music too! But thats ok - I generally appreciate a song more for good lyrics than good music.

Attention commenters! A certain page on a certain abysmally designed website might just contain a poor recording of Bellbird for your listening to and/or downloading of.
