It is certainly a demanding list of things you have found to live up to.

That’s okay, Linguistics has trained me to be descriptive rather than prescriptive.

    Or has it? I’m confused.

    Stop victimising me!

  3. era

I wasn’t victimising you, that would imply that I thought you were the victim rather than the perpetrator. If I know two things about you (neither of which are on the list), they are that you are yourself, and that you are not a list of attributes.

That was meant to be a tongue-in-cheek reference to the list… why so serious?

    The internets are serious business!

It is something I’ve been thinking about lately, I should probably just blog about it instead of accosting others in comments.

Yes. Hiding in dark virtual alleyways and jumping people (metaphorically speaking) generally doesn’t bode well… even for philosophers like you, Era :P (although it would be an interesting way of picking up girls, maybe?).

Ha, approximately 2/3 of that stuff has me to a T, and I’m an ISFJ. I shall now go and quietly worry about it in my loneliness for a while.

Whoa! did anyone else notice that in those16 descriptions, the extroverted ones are full of glowing praise while the introverts are mostly described in terms of what we suck at and miss out on? On reading your post I assumed you’d just taken an exerpt to make an ironic point, and that somewhere it would go on to describe the INFP’s great moral courage, essentially loving nature, resilience despite apparent hopelessness, sensitivity to beauty etc etc. But no. Introverts are so awesome and misunderstood… :P
Incidentally, the INFJ description didn’t match me particularly well, though other ones I have read spectacularly do.
